Please join us on Thursday, January 28th at K Street Lounge (6 - 8 pm) for a benefit to assist in the relief efforts in Haiti. All proceeds for the event will go directly to Partners in Health (PIH), one of the most dedicated organizations already working on the grounds in Haiti. As you know, Haiti has suffered a devastating magnitude 7.0 earthquake that includes the death toll in the hundred of thousand. Partners In Health has emphasized the dire need for assistance, as millions of people remain in critical situations - living without water, shelter or essential medicine.
Why come out? To show your support, to mingle w/other Little Black Dress DC members, to enjoy one free drink (w/your $20 donation). Why will your donation go to Partners in Health (vs. another relief organization)? The wonderful thing about Partners in Health (PIH) is that a larger portion of their funds goes direclty towards on the ground projects (and not to overhead/admin. costs like even some of the other more well know relief organizations), and they have already been working in Haiti for 20 + yrs. so they really know the local situations.
