Microsoft's DigiGirlz High Tech Camp 2008! (DC)

Microsoft DigiGirlz High Tech Camp is a multiday experience for high school girls that is designed to give them an in-depth look at Microsoft and careers in technology. The girls participate in hands-on technology courses, watch product demonstrations and experiment with the products, and take a tour of the Microsoft campus that hosts the event. They also get to know other young women who are interested in technology. Participants are provided with networking opportunities and gain insight into the daily job of one of the company's outstanding women employees through a day-long job shadow.

Initially, I met with Microsoft's Outreach Director & planned on contributing Take Home Totes (goodie bags) for the Campers. I planned on taking a "hands off" approach to the event. Well, she just asked me to participate as a Guest Speaker.

!

We chatted in April, during Breakfast with The Washington Business Journal @ Georgia Brown's (my SPOT!). She watched me feed my face & still wanted to work with me, so I guess I didn't scarf my food down TOO much (*smh* LOL). We ran our mouths for like an hour, before exchanging business cards. It was great.

Anywho, the program is Wednesday, July 30 - Friday, August 1st (I'll do my 'bit' on Friday morning, after I present the young ladies with their Take Home Totes. I'll let you know how that goes. I'm kinda nervous *butterflies* Wish me luck!

Until next time...

*smooches&hugs*
